The Trio for Oboe, Bass, and Piano was written for my friend and colleague Dr. Courtney Miller. No one is more of a team player than Courtney, who exudes a desire for collaboration and creativity that is contagious. For this work, she wanted to team up with two other wonderful colleagues, Volkan Orhan (bass) and Rene Lecuona (piano), to create a work of unique instrumentation and beautiful colors.
